Title:
PRR "Class 'D' Locomotives," Page 29, 1981
Description:
Here is page 29 of a 78-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "Those Amazing Class 'D' Locomotives." It was issued originally in June of 1981. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1253, a D-11A (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during September of 1888 and retired in February of 1909 after 21 years of faithful service. Note that there are two different types of wheels in the pony truck: one spoked, the other solid.
